So, I’m gonna try a Tumblr game. There are 56 characters (give or take) from both the Marvel and DC universes in this picture. Since I KNOW this will be reblogged a LOT, here is the challenge. For all the nerds that will reblog this, name off ONE character in the picture. If you look at the notes, you should see who already did who, so try not to name one already tagged. :)
I’M FIRST!1) SPIDER-MAN

Robin!

Madman.

DOOP! :D (Darwyn Cooke is amazing)

Daffy Duck

Agent Kay.

Dr. Fate

Slam Bradley

  4. Almost Darwyn Cooke’s blog Christmas auction to benefit Hero :

Among other items, Darwyn Cooke recreates the covers of Batman #84 (“Catwoman cages the sleeping beauties of Gotham City!”, Winslow Mortimer, June 1954) and #197 (“Catwoman sets her claws for Batman!”, Carmine Infantino/Mike Esposito, December 1967).

I’m sure I’ve posted the original versions of these classic covers on my tumblelog last year. I can’t find them right now, but I’ve had a lot of fun sifting through the Batman pics I’ve already posted.

about-faces:

Required reading: Catwoman blogger extraordinaire, Dr. Von Fangirl, tears into the first issue of Judd Winick’s Catwoman, first to explain point by point why those who like it are WRONG, and secondly to school fools as to how that comic’s exploitation is different from genuine cheesecake, using pages like this one by Brubaker & Cooke to show you how it’s done RIGHT.

I thoroughly recommend you click through and read the post; well worth your time.

  10. chrishaley:

Darwyn Cooke’s amazing adaptation of Richard Stark’s “The Outfit” (Vol. 2 in the Parker series) is only $9.75 on Amazon!
That’s less than half-price for the hardcover of an utterly fantastic work by one of the true masters of the craft of comics.
If you don’t already have it, I cannot recommend this highly enough.
